Hey Luke, great articles but I disagree with you on this one. The DH is needed now more than ever. It's a sign of the times that baseball players, particularly pitchers, are specialists. Pitchers are hired for their arms not their bats. I don't want to pay to watch a major league game - a league with the best players in the world - and know that I can hit better than the number nine hitter on most NL clubs. Having the pitcher bunt 90% of the time isn't "strategy" and doesn't make the NL game better. A bunt is strategic if it's done to advance a runner, not if it's done because the batter sucks so much at hitting that a bunt is his only hope to put the ball in play. Keep the DH, expand it to the NL, and face the facts that the game has changed and we need professional hitters and professional pitchers. It's been a long time since NFL players played both sides of the ball. Let's let that die out in baseball too.

Give amnesty to steroid users from what? Punishment by the league? Hatred from fans? Entry into the Hall? These dudes cheated the game and its history and disrespected the fans and every player who played in the pre-roid era. No way they should get a pass. History will judge how they a reviewed. But shame on us if we just say, "OK, admit what you did and all will be well." Ruth, Gehrig, Foxx, Simmons, Hornsby and the other greats would be spinning in their graves.
