A few days ago, I wrote that there had been major improvements in the DirecTV Extra Innings package for Major League Baseball. My bad.
Apparently I was watching the free preview week, where you apparently get a preview of services that are not a part of the actual package. Why would the previews allow you to watch both feeds of a game, when you don’t get that service when you pay for the package?
The incompetence that is the MLB/Extra Innings union is beyond words at this point. I’ve said all I can say on this matter not once, but twice, with an apparently incorrect update to boot.
I still can’t watch Padres games in Las Vegas, and today I had the Mets game blacked out on SNY, but available on the Comcast channel. As much as I love Harry Calas, I like to listen to Keith Hernandez as much, and I would like that option.
Apparently getting games in HD costs extra, too. Even if I’m already paying for the channels that show the games in HD, I have to pay even more to watch baseball on those channels. That’s right, I pay for the baseball package, and I pay for the HD package. But I have to pay more to get baseball games in HD.
As much as I hate to see our sports in court, this is one anti-trust situation that Congress needs to look at. The government actually has my support to bring Bud Selig in to have a little talk…Again.
