Jayson Stark is the man I want when it comes to explaining just what we witnessed in that 22-inning marathon this week. That game was so great, yet so disappointing for me, as I’ve been saying for years that the only thing I want is live sports in the middle of the night. But the other side of that is that living in Las Vegas, I can’t watch Padres games on DirecTV, and the Rockies feed was blacked out. Extra Innings package at it’s finest.

Frank Thomas is livid with being benched for Matt Stairs. Hitting a solid .167, Thomas said that the Blue Jays are cutting his playing time to prevent him from reaching his options in his contract. Or maybe because he’s hitting .167, either one could be right.

War Pass is out of the Kentucky Derby with an injury.

ESPN.com has what they call “Fight Credential” for big boxing matches, and they have it up for the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight. It’s a great home-base for fight week of big matches. It’s pretty much the whole boxing crew from the Worldwide Leader offering previews, blogs and chats. Good stuff.
