According to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports, Mike Slive of the SEC is planning on pushing for some change in the BCS. Of course, the change he’s speaking of is the awful, awful “plus-one” format that the same idiots who came up with the BCS think will work. For those who don’t know, the idea of the plus-one format is basically taking the current BCS system and adding one more championship game, making really a four-team playoff. And they think this works. So what happens in the years when two teams go undefeated and deserve to play for the title? If you’re not putting in a full playoff system, don’t bother. If you don’t understand why there is a need for a full playoff, you also won’t understand why a “plus-one” format will fail. Here’s lukekohler.com’s plan for a playoff, and it’s fool-proof.
The Carl Froch – Denis Inkin fight is off again. Froch vs. Alejandro Berrio instead? Better fight, I think.
