In the wake of the Kentucky Derby, and the chaos that is surrounding Big Brown’s victory and Eight Belles death, we can now turn our attention to the harness game, where 3-year old pacer Somebeachsomewhere ran his first qualifier of the year on Monday. The undefeated champion ran a blistering 1:51.1 at Mohawk Racetrack in Ontario. From everything we’ve seen of this horse, and everything we’ve heard about his progression this year, we may be looking at the greatest pacer in history. Somebeachsomewhere makes his season debut at Mohawk on May 17.

Some crazy broad went nuts after a Yankees-Red Sox argument and drove her car into the offending Red Sox fan and his crew, killing the man. She was charged with second-degree murder.

How can you not love Ozzie Guillen? Guillen went off on the Chicago sports media and Chicago sports fans in his own unique, vulgar style. And you know what? He was absolutely right. Well done, Ozzie.

Mikkel Kessler is allegedly planning on returning to the ring on June 21 against an unnamed opponent. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Ruslan Chagaev pulled out of yet another title fight, this time his rematch with Nicolai Valuev. Chagaev is claiming sickness once again.

Anthony Mundine and Danny Green might fight again after all. The rematch, highly anticipated in Australia, was derailed when Green retired, but apparently Mundine’s people are still working on making the rematch happen, and apparently Green is still listening.

Junior Witter might move to welterweight. I guess the logic is that if you can’t land a fight with Hatton, you might as well not land a fight with Cotto, Mayweather, Margarito, Mosley, or Quintana.
