Well, one broken ball to be precise. That’s right, Diamondbacks catcher Chris Snyder was diagnosed with a fractured left testicle. I’m going to say that again because you might not have heard what I just said. Chris Snyder has a fractured left testicle.
Between Felix Pie’s twisted testicles and Kaz Matsui’sanal fissure, this has to be the most graphic season of baseball injuries in history. Throw in Carlos Guillen’s hemorrhoids and I no longer want to check the injury reports in Major League Baseball.
Let’s just make a deal — we won’t ask for details if you simply say that a player is out with an “undisclosed groin injury” or an “undisclosed private parts injury.” I think this would make everyone much, much happier. No matter what Chris Snyder or Felix Pie do on the baseball field, the rest of their careers will have them being known as the guys who hurt their nuts.
With any luck, this is the last time I ever have to write about any of these men and the injuries they’ve had.
