New York Rangers prospect Alexei Cherepanov died during a game in Russia of an apparent heart attack. Apparently Cherepanov collided with teammate Jaromir Jagr and soon lost consciousness and his heart stopped. He was 19.
One week too late, Vanderbilt has made a quarterback change. Despite desparately needing to make this change early in their loss to Mississippi State, coach Bobby Johnson went against all logic and kept the proven better quarterback on the bench in favor of the guy who couldn’t move the chains. Vandy should still be undefeated, and would be if Johnson made this change a week ago, after the game film from the Auburn game showed that Mackenzi Adams was infinitely more productive than Chris Nickson. Stubborn coaching cost Vanderbilt their shot at the SEC.
