News and Links for October 24, 2008…
When I was covering the Arizona State Sun Devils on a daily basis, Terrell Suggs was at the peak of his college dominance. And he was the best soundbyte in town, because the guy didn’t know when to stop talking. Now an NFL Pro-Bowler, Suggs still can’t stop talking. First it was talking about all the bounties that the Ravens have out on people, then it was saying that Troy Smith should be the quarterback. Then Suggs tried to clarify by saying he didn’t know what he was being asked both times he spoke stupidly this week. If you haven’t seen college Suggs, or T-Sizzle, on the game show Street Smarts, you’re missing some quality entertainment.
Hold everything! Daunte Culpepper might be coming out of retirement. And by retirement, I mean unemployment.
Edgerrin James (or to John Madden: Edgerrson) is not happy about his role with the Cardinals. Who would have thought that we’d live to see the day that there are too many running backs having success in Arizona to keep them all happy. The irony that he was brought in to help them whiff the playoffs, and the year that it looks like they’ll make it by default, James isn’t happy because of playing time. Dude, just be happy you’re not 1-6 right now. Ask Emmitt.
