Yankees Back Up the Truck for Sabathia

lukekohler.com: Latest post

The New York Yankees have formally offered CC Sabathia a truck-load of money. ESPN.com’s Buster Olney reports that they Yanks are offering Sabathia a six-year deal, reportedly worth slightly more than Johan Santana’s record setting contract with the New York Mets.

Olney also said that the Yankees are planning on making offers to free-agents A.J. Burnett and Derek Lowe.

The Yankees have also been rumored to be interested in Manny Ramirez, Mark Teixeira, Ben Sheets, Oliver Perez and Orlando Hudson.

They acquired Nick Swisher earlier this week for three players, and also signed Damaso Marte to help their bullpen.

No word if the Yankees have made an offer to buy the entire Tampa Bay Rays, but it’s not out of the question.
