After 18 season, Mike Mussina is calling it a career. I can’t say I blame him, since at this point in his career, I can’t see him doing any better than he did last year. The question now: Is Mike Mussina a Hall of Famer? I say no, but he might be when we see where some of his fellow “steroid generation” pitcher’s career stats end up.

Adam “Pacman” Jones is back in the NFL. Careful Pacman, 10 strikes and you’re out.

Edgerrin James has asked for his release from the Arizona Cardinals. I suppose not being productive and not having the starting job on a shitty team is better than doing it on a playoff team. Perhaps he should look and see that the teams that are in need of a running back are not going to the playoffs. The Cardinals are. Oh, yeah, and he lost his job to a I-AA rookie who has had exactly one decent game in his career. Here’s my advice: Suck it up and do your part to help the team win now, and worry about your money and image after the season.

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen was fined another $25,000 for a late hit on Aaron Rodgers, bringing his season total to at least $80,000. Perhaps someone should teach him the rules of the NFL while he’s still up money on the season. For some reason, Allen wasn’t suspended, despite much speculation that he might be.

Don Wakamatsu became the first Asian-American manager in Major League Baseball, signing on to take over the Seattle Mariners. Because if there’s anything the Mariners needed, it’s some more support from the Asian community.

Since Antonio Margarito doesn’t want to play, Shane Mosley may take on Andre Berto in January.
