News and Links for January 15, 2009…
Former New York Giant Dave Meggett was charged with rape – again. That’s never good. Already on probation for sexual battery, and out on bond for rape, Meggett was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly raping a 17-year old North Carolina girl.
Terrell Owens may be released from the Dallas Cowboys before next season. What quarterback will he try to ruin next year? My vote is for Philip Rivers. I have no information to back that up, it just seems like a natural fit for some reason.
Boy that Rick Reilly sure writes all sophisticated like. Good thing the Worldwide Leader paid him a fortune to be their beer pong beat writer.
Pittsburgh Mayor Luke R. Ravenstahl changed his name to Luke R. Steelerstahl. That’s commitment.
Mark Sanchez is going to announce that he is going pro. He will likely become the second quarterback taken after Matthew Stafford in what is turning out to be a QB-less draft. LeSean McCoy is also going pro. Can’t argue with either of them.
Glen Johnson wants to fight Mikkel Kessler at 170 pounds. Sounds like a great fight to me, but I have a feeling that Kessler’s people are completely uninterested.
Sergio Martinez will fight Kermit Cintron on Feb. 14. Should be the win against a known name that Martinez needs to vault himself into headliner status in the US.
