Now that Terrell Owens is officially unemployed, the rumor mill has begun churning out potential new employers. The question is, does anyone really want him?
Owens had public feuds with his quarterbacks in his last three cities, battling with Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo. Now that he has been cut loose by Dallas, it appears that his next feud will be with JaMarcus Russell in Oakland.
According to sportsbook.com, Oakland is a -200 favorite to land the receiver, and ESPN.com’s Page 2 also has the Raiders as the front runner.
While many people have mentioned the Giants and Redskins as potential suitors of Owens, ProFootballTalk.com says they are both among the list of teams that have said they are not interested in T.O.
The list:
The Dallas Cowboys. (Duh.)
The New York Giants.
The Washington Redskins.
The Baltimore Ravens.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The Minnesota Vikings.
The Atlanta Falcons.
The Cleveland Browns.
The San Diego Chargers.
The Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Jets.
The Tennessee Titans.
The St. Louis Rams.
The New Orleans Saints.
The Houston Texans.
The Jacksonville Jaguars. Here are the teams that likely will join the list soon:
The Miami Dolphins.
For those of you who don’t want to do the work, that is 16 going on 17 teams that don’t want Owens. That’s more than half the league for those of you who don’t want to do the math.
A recent ESPN Sportsnation poll indicated that when asked, responders from every state in the union don’t want T.O. on their favorite team.
Sounds like he’ll be a perfect fit in Oakland.
Good luck, JaMarcus.
