Drew Rosenhaus wasn’t lying when he said that Terrell Owens had some things going and would be signed imminently. Owens agreed to a deal with the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, just three days after being let go by the Dallas Cowboys.
Owens signed a one-year deal worth $6.5 million, far less than the four-years, $34 million and $12 million signing bonus that he got from Dallas a year ago.
Owens one-year deal, his slight discount, and his very quick signing show just how thin the market was for him. With the majority of the league saying that they had no interest in T.O., it seemed that once there was a decent offer, they jumped at it.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen speaking on ESPNEWS, this deal was allegedly made without the blessing of any of the coaches in Buffalo, and was a move made directly from the ownership to try to get the Bills a winner for their 90-year old owner, Ralph Wilson, Jr. Wilson will turn 91 in October and wanted to make one more run at the playoffs.
Good luck Trent Edwards and J.P. Losman.
